Am I at Risk for Diabetes?

You may have diabetes & not even know it. Therefore, it’s important to know the risk factors of diabetes & see your healthcare practitioner routinely for screening.

Risk factors include:

  • Family history of diabetes (parent, sibling, grandparent, etc.)
  • Being a member of a high risk group (Indigenous, Hispanic, South Asian, Asian, African decent)
  • Being overweight
  • High blood pressure and/or high cholesterol
  • Giving birth to a baby weighing greater than 9lbs
  • Prediabetes
