1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, rinsed & drained (reserve the liquid from the can)
1 clove garlic, crushed (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil (or sesame oil)
NOTE – If using dried chickpeas, soak to rehydrate, then measure out 15 ounces. When you blend these, you will have to add water or lemon juice to desired consistency.
- In a blender or food processor combine beans, garlic, cumin, salt and olive oil. Blend on low speed, gradually adding reserved bean liquid until desired consistency is achieved.
