Gestational diabetes is a type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy. If you have gestational diabetes your doctor will refer you to the Huron Perth Diabetes Program to meet with a Registered Dietitian. You may also be referred to the Huron Perth Diabetes Program if you have diabetes & become pregnant. The Registered Dietitian will review healthy eating, importance of physical activity, blood glucose monitoring & giving insulin during pregnancy depending on your diabetes care needs.
